Maria Ozawa recently opened up about her past relationship with Filipino chef Jose Sarasola, highlighting the challenges they faced due to cultural differences between Japan and the Philippines.
In an interview on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” Maria shared that their relationship was a learning experience for both of them, particularly in understanding each other’s cultural backgrounds. “It was just hard to blend in,” she admitted, emphasizing how these differences impacted their relationship.
The couple decided to part ways during the pandemic, with Maria returning to Japan. She clarified that the breakup was mutual and not due to any third party. “We didn’t see any future, I mean like we didn’t know what to do about it,” she explained.
Maria and Jose, who were together for nearly five years, ended their relationship in 2022. Despite the breakup, Maria remains active in her career and currently stars in the GMA series “Pulang Araw.”
