Maris Racal has confirmed that she and Rico Blanco have ended their relationship. In videos posted online, the “Marupok AF” actress became emotional when discussing Rico, stating, “Ang dami kasing tanong and I’m tired of smiling and nodding. I’m so scared ‘cause if I announce it, then it’s real. But yeah, Rico and I are over.”
Maris revealed that the breakup occurred a few weeks ago, describing the period as the “loneliest, emptiest weeks” of her life. She explained that the situation was complicated, preventing her from simply releasing a statement about their separation.
Reflecting on their time together, Maris said, “Rico and I, our universe was so beautiful. It was so full of love, laughter, music, everything. Sa five years namin together, we were always on the same page. But I don’t know what happened to me. Maybe I turned to the next page and saw a new perspective sa life.”
She acknowledged experiencing personal changes, which she communicated to Rico. “He took it like a man. It was a very difficult talk ‘cause I love him so much,” she said. “But I have so many questions about my life and how will I go on sa buhay with him.” Maris characterized their breakup as “very polite.”
Maris and Rico had been dating for two years before making their relationship public in 2021. Shortly after their announcement, Maris posted a photo of a cake that read, “Age is just a number.” Rico is now 51 years old, while Maris is 26 years old.
