Malacañang has declared Monday, May 12, 2025, as a special non-working holiday across the Philippines to allow citizens to cast their votes in the upcoming national elections.
Under Proclamation No. 878, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. officially signed the declaration on May 6, following a formal request from the Commission on Elections (Comelec). The proclamation recognizes the importance of ensuring that Filipinos have adequate time to participate in the democratic process.
The move is part of the government’s effort to support a smooth and inclusive Eleksyon 2025, reinforcing every Filipino’s right to vote.
