MANILA — Mika Salamanca broke down in tears during a task on Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition, revealing how her past arrest in Hawaii continues to affect her emotionally.
In Saturday’s episode, fellow task leader Brent Manalo encouraged Mika to take charge during their weekly challenge—an 18-minute one-shot film based on TikTok star Esnyr’s characters. But Mika, overwhelmed with doubt, told Big Brother she felt like she wasn’t contributing enough.
“I really feel bad, Kuya. I’m the leader but I feel like I have no contribution. That’s why others are stepping up—because they can’t rely on me. I feel like it’s my fault,” she said through tears.
Inside the confession room, Mika shared how the trauma from her 2020 arrest in Hawaii still haunts her. She was arrested after being seen out in public during her mandatory quarantine, following reports and video evidence submitted to authorities.
“I trusted a local friend when I arrived there, and people saw me out on the first day. That led to bashing and my arrest,” she recalled.
She admitted that the criticism from that incident left a lasting mark. “Every time I make a mistake, I’m scared it’ll all happen again. I feel like I was so stupid back then.”
Big Brother offered a comforting reminder: “Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. What matters most is what you learn from them. Mistakes don’t define who you are.”
Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition airs weeknights at 10 p.m. and weekends at 6:15 p.m. on GMA Network.
