In an extraordinary turn of events, a saleswoman from a local mall in Cebu City gave birth to a baby girl inside the Mabolo Police Station on Friday, November 10. The mother, identified as Gleecy Villastev, was en route to a medical facility when the urgency of her situation led her to the police station at approximately 5:45 p.m.
Major Eraño Regidor, the head of the Mabolo Police Station, recounted how Gleecy’s partner, Stev de Jesus, a bus conductor, rushed into the station around 5 p.m., seeking assistance for Gleecy who was in the throes of labor.
The police personnel, initially preparing to transport Villastev to a hospital, realized she was too close to delivering. This prompted an impromptu delivery operation right within the station. The team that rose to the occasion included Lieutenant Raymart Rabanes, Staff Master Sergeant Gilbert Igot, Staff Sergeants Fernan Omolon, Christian Tabotabo, and Benjie Saladaga, Corporal Jerome Torreon, and non-uniformed staff member Melody Tabotabo.
Following the successful delivery, the newborn was immediately taken to a medical facility to ensure both mother and child received appropriate postnatal care.
