In celebration of the 124th anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service, government employees can enjoy free rides on the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) from September 18 to 20, 2024.
To avail of the free rides, civil servants simply need to present their employee IDs to station personnel.
For MRT-3, the free rides will be available throughout its operating hours. The North Avenue Station opens at 4:30 a.m., and the last train departs at 9:30 p.m. from the same station. Taft Avenue Station starts at 5:05 a.m., with its final trip leaving at 10:09 p.m.
Meanwhile, LRT-2 passengers can enjoy the free rides during peak hours: 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
MRT-3 general manager Oscar Bongon expressed gratitude to government workers for their dedicated service. He said the initiative aims to offer a small token of appreciation for their efforts, adding, “Mabuhay ang mga kawani ng gobyerno” (Long live the government workers).
