The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has denied claims that Darryl Yap’s controversial Pepsi Paloma film is currently under review, stating that the submission remains incomplete.

In an official statement, the MTRCB explained that the film’s distributor, PinoyFlix Films and Entertainment Production, has yet to provide key legal documents, including:

  • A Certificate or Clearance of No Pending Criminal, Civil, or Administrative Case from the Regional Trial Court, Department of Justice, and Office of the City Prosecutor.

“As part of the standard review process, our Legal Affairs Division has formally communicated with the film’s distributor regarding the missing requirements,” the MTRCB said.

The agency emphasized that all films undergo strict evaluation in compliance with Presidential Decree No. 1986, which governs the classification of motion pictures and TV programs. It also warned against misinformation regarding the process.

“The MTRCB will not tolerate any false narratives that seek to discredit the Agency or undermine its mandate to protect public interest,” it added.

Darryl Yap has previously been ordered to take down a teaser for the film but was allowed to continue production pending legal compliance.
