The romantic comedy, brought to life by Viva Films, witnessed a warm reception from moviegoers, contributing to a robust opening day sales figure. The production house took to social media to express gratitude towards the audience, stating, “We feel the ‘My Sassy Girl’ fever! Thank you very much to those who watched the film because it earned P5.2 million in total opening gross sales. We feel your love! This is the rom-com movie you need in the season of love.”
The film is an homage to the 2001 original, which starred Jun Ji-hyun and Cha Tae-hyun, and spun a tale of a tumultuous yet endearing relationship between its protagonists.
