A surreal scene unfolded in Makati City as a woman was seen climbing out of a drainage hole at a bustling intersection—leaving both onlookers and authorities baffled.
The bizarre incident took place at the corner of Rufino and Adelantado Streets in Legazpi Village and quickly went viral after photos of the woman crawling out of the sewer were shared on social media.
According to a 24 Oras report by Mark Salazar, the woman bolted into the street, seemingly in a panic, with security guards reportedly chasing after her. However, it remains unclear whether she was caught or why she was underground in the first place.
Authorities responded by inspecting the area and widening the drainage opening to trace her possible entry point. But what they found only deepened the mystery—inside was a tight, leaf-filled space and a concrete culvert too narrow for a person to pass through.
To prevent similar incidents, a steel bar has since been placed over the drainage.
Both the Makati City Police and the Makati Central Estate Association (MCEA) have yet to shed light on the situation, leaving the community with more questions than answers.
