The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has confirmed the authenticity of a controversial video in which Vice President Sara Duterte allegedly threatens the lives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his family.
NBI Director Jaime Santiago stated in a report by Carlo Mateo on Super Radyo dzBB that the video was neither fabricated nor generated using artificial intelligence (AI).
In the footage, Duterte reportedly declares that if she were killed, she would order the assassination of Marcos, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos.
The Department of Justice has already received the NBI Cybercrime Division’s findings, which affirm the video’s authenticity.

The remarks were made during a virtual press conference in which Duterte criticized the House of Representatives for ordering the transfer of her chief of staff, Atty. Zulieka Lopez, from the House detention facility to the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City.
In response, the Presidential Security Command (PSC) has heightened security measures, treating the remarks as a potential national security issue. The Philippine National Police (PNP) also announced its own investigation into Duterte’s claims.
