The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) assured the public on Saturday that its security operations remain fully active to ensure a safe return for travelers heading back to Metro Manila after the Holy Week break.
In a statement, the NCRPO said that comprehensive measures are in place at major transport hubs and key roads to maintain safety and order as Metro residents resume their regular routines.
“Metro Manila is bracing for a wave of returning travelers,” the NCRPO said. “Security operations remain in full swing as vacationers make their way back into the capital.”
Police visibility, assistance desks, and patrol operations are being maintained across areas of public convergence. The NCRPO is also closely coordinating with transport terminals and local governments to manage the surge of returning commuters.
NCRPO Regional Director Police Major General Anthony Aberin reiterated the office’s commitment: “We will be out on the streets to ensure everyone’s safety. This is our ongoing mission.”
Despite heightened security, the NCRPO urged the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to authorities.
Earlier, the Philippine National Police (PNP) announced a major deployment boost for Holy Week, bringing total personnel to over 60,000—up by 21,000 officers for the observance of the summer travel period.
