Nesthy Petecio received her bronze medal in the women’s boxing 57kg event at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Sunday. Petecio secured the bronze after falling short in the semifinals against Poland’s Julia Szeremeta, but her semifinal berth guaranteed her a place on the podium.

Chinese Taipei’s Lin Yu-Ting won the gold medal, while Szeremeta claimed the silver. Turkey’s Esra Yildiz Kahraman also earned a bronze medal in the same category.

This marks Petecio’s second Olympic medal, following her silver medal performance at the Tokyo Olympics three years ago.

The Philippines concluded its Olympic campaign with a total of four medals: two gold medals from gymnast Carlos Yulo and two bronze medals from boxing, with Aira Villegas earning the other bronze.
