Motorists can now fully access all northbound lanes of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Marilao starting early Wednesday, March 26, 2025, following the completion of repair works ahead of schedule.
NLEX Corporation confirmed in a Tuesday night statement that the lanes became passable as of 1 a.m. Wednesday, significantly earlier than their initial target.
“While all lanes are now open, steel poles will remain in place temporarily to allow the concrete bridge structure to cure properly,” NLEX explained. “Traffic flow is expected to improve and return to normal in the coming days.”
Traffic in the area had been heavily disrupted since March 19, when a trailer truck damaged the Marilao Interchange Bridge. This prompted lane closures, rerouting, and congestion.
Initially projected to take two to three weeks, NLEX accelerated repair operations through nonstop work shifts and fast-tracked delivery of steel components.
“We extend our gratitude to all motorists for their patience and cooperation during the disruption,” NLEX said, promising ongoing efforts to enhance safety and traffic management across the expressway.
