Umani ng pambabatikos sa Senado ang panukala ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) na i-require ang mga indigent beneficiaries ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, o ‘4Ps’ na magpabauna kontra Covid-19 bago sila makatanggap ng subsidiya mula sa Gobyerno.
Ayon kay Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon, ilegal ang panukalang ito at walang batas na magsusuporta sa mungkahing ito ng DILG.
“It cannot be done without a law, and I will not agree to pass such a law that makes vaccination compulsory,” ani ni Drilon sa isang panayam sa dzBB.
Ani pa ng Senador, hindi maaaring basta na lamang mag dagdag ng kundisyon ang gobyerno sa pamamahagi ng subsidiya sa mga benepisyaryo ng 4Ps.
“The law states what are the conditions for the subsidies. The DILG can’t just add to the conditions. That’s illegal and that’s against the law,” ayon kay Drilon.
Sinabi ni DILG spokesperson Jonathan Malaya tinitignan ng gobyerno ang anggulong pagtanggal sa mga benepisyaryo ng 4Ps na hindi pa nagpapabakuna kontra Covid-19 hanggang ngayon.
“The 4Ps is called a conditional transfer because before you can get your regular subsidy from the government, you have to meet certain conditions,” ani Malaya.
“We will just add another condition, which is vaccination. If they will not get vaccinated, they will not receive any 4Ps subsidy from the government.” dagdag pa niya.
