PBA Party-list lawmaker Migs Nograles took a hair follicle drug test in Davao City on Wednesday, following a challenge from Davao City Representative Paolo Duterte. Nograles, who is set to run for Davao City First District Representative against Duterte in the 2025 elections, took the test in her hometown, the stronghold of the Duterte family.
“At the end of the day, I don’t take it as a challenge. This is for accountability and transparency,” Nograles stated during an interview with reporters.
Duterte also underwent the same hair follicle drug test on Wednesday, but in Mandaluyong City. He had previously challenged Nograles to take the test after releasing a video of his own drug test from August 2024.
While Nograles noted that she had not encountered Duterte in Davao, she expressed satisfaction that both candidates completed the drug tests, even if they were in different locations.
Nograles is the daughter of the late House Speaker Prospero Nograles, while Duterte is the son of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
