The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 over several areas in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao as Tropical Depression Verbena moves across the Philippines.
As of its latest bulletin, Verbena is estimated to have sustained winds of up to 45 km/h near its center, with gusts reaching 55 km/h, and is moving west‑northwest.
Though Signal No. 1 indicates minimal to minor impacts from strong winds, the public is warned to remain alert since rainfall, gusty conditions, and rough seas are still possible—even in areas outside the immediate threat zone.
PAGASA also flagged coastal waters: gale‑force winds and rough to very rough sea conditions are expected along the northern seaboard of Luzon. Mariners, especially those in small craft, are strongly advised to avoid or delay voyages until conditions improve.
Residents in places under Signal No. 1 should monitor updates, secure loose items, check drainage, and be ready to act if the weather worsens. Authorities say business and daily activities may continue, but with caution.
