Malacañang has dismissed rumors that First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos was detained by law enforcement in the United States.
“There is no truth that FL was held by any law enforcers while in LA or any other place,” Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro clarified on Thursday.
According to Castro, the First Lady returned to Manila on Monday morning following a working visit to the US. During her trip, she attended the Meeting of the Minds and the Manila International Film Festival in Miami, Florida, and Los Angeles, California, from March 5 to 8.
On March 11, Marcos resumed her official engagements, leading the turnover of donations to the Girl Scouts of the Philippines in Manila.
The Palace’s statement comes in response to circulating speculations regarding her alleged detention abroad.
