The Philippine men’s football team is determined to maintain its lead in Group A of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers as they prepare to face the Maldives again.

Already sitting at the top of the group, the Azkals know that another win — ideally by a comfortable margin — will strengthen their position and boost their chances of qualifying.

Coach Albert Capellas emphasized the importance of repeating their success: “We need to win these types of games if we want to qualify,” he said, highlighting how valuable goal difference could be.

A key factor in their previous 4–1 victory over the Maldives was the strong debut performance of Randy Schneider, who not only assisted early but also scored later in the match.

With confidence high and momentum on their side, the Philippine team is aiming for another dominant display and a second win over the Maldives — one that could make a big difference in their quest for an Asian Cup ticket.
