Professional surfer Philmar Alipayo has spoken out about a viral video showing him hanging out with a woman.

On Monday’s episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” Philmar explained that people often approach him for small talk when they see him in Siargao. While he frequently engages in conversation, he emphasized that he is always mindful of his boundaries to avoid any misunderstandings.

“Kahit papaano, [kahit] sobra kong lasing, alam kong may ano [boundaries],” he said, explaining that even when he’s heavily intoxicated, he maintains his limits.

His partner, Andi Eigenmann, shared that although they initially laughed off the video, she was troubled by the intent behind it. “What bothers me is finding out that it was done on purpose,” Andi said. “The person in the video was the one who posted it. That’s what bothered me because you just created something super unnecessary.”

Andi also highlighted that Philmar is unaffected by public opinion as the only opinion that matters to him is hers. “Hindi niya naman asawa ‘yong mga tao na iyan,” she added.

In May, a woman named Crissa Liaging posted the now-deleted video on TikTok, showing her interacting with Philmar during her vacation in Siargao. Andi later stated that she didn’t see any harm in Philmar’s actions, and Crissa also denied any rumors between her and Philmar.

This incident followed breakup rumors surrounding Andi and Philmar, sparked by Andi’s trip to Japan with her family after the death of her mother, Jaclyn Jose.

Philmar recently underwent a transesophageal echocardiogram procedure due to a congenital heart defect. Engaged since 2020, Philmar and Andi, along with their family known as the Happy Islanders, live in Siargao. They postponed their wedding plans following Jaclyn Jose’s passing on March 2 at the age of 60 due to a heart attack.
