In an event that grabbed headlines, Valentino Abiertas, known as the “Pinoy Battousai,” recently sold his infamous machete, central to a 2016 incident that was caught on CCTV. The incident, which initially sent shockwaves due to its violent nature, took an unexpected turn when Valentino revealed he had imitated the renowned Battousai by inverting the blade, ensuring no severe harm came to his adversary, Cris Bautista.

Featured in the recent episode of “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,” Valentino, hailing from Morong, Rizal, embraced the moniker netizens gave him following the incident. Drawing inspiration from Battousai, who is famed for wielding a reversed blade to avoid lethal force, Valentino mirrored this technique during the altercation to spare his friend and godfather to his son, Cris.

The dispute, ignited by a derogatory remark about Valentino’s wife, led to the dramatic confrontation. Despite their close ties, including shared meals and outings, the tension escalated, culminating in the now-infamous machete incident.

Acknowledging his wrongdoing and the poor example he set that day, Valentino has since turned the shirt he wore during the altercation into a household display item. However, the highlight of this story is the fate of the machete itself. Valentino took the weapon to Pinoy Pawnstar, owned by collector Boy Toyo, who vividly recalled the incident and Valentino’s “Battousai” moniker.

Initially asking for P30,000 for the machete, Valentino eventually agreed to sell it for P16,000 after some negotiation. He admitted to facing financial difficulties, which prompted the sale. Moreover, there’s anticipation that the machete might feature in a museum collection curated by Boss Tayo.

As for Valentino and Cris, their current relationship remains a topic of interest, with both residing in the same locality. The full story and the dynamics between these two former friends and godparents are further explored in the episode of “KMJS.”
