LEGAZPI CITY – The Philippine National Police in Daet Camarines Norte is hunting a 45-year old female thief who carted away P1.5 million cash and P.5 million worth of jewelries from the residence of a businesswoman on Saturday, Police Major Maria Luisa “Malu” Calubaquib, PNP Bicol regional command spokesperson here said. 

Calubaquib identified the suspect as Virginia Bolocon, 45, resident of Barangay Lalawigan in Mercedes town. She said that Janet Nael, 43, a resident of Purok 5, Barangay Lag-on, Daet and a businesswoman, complained to the police headquarters in Daet town that her home was robbed and she lost P1.5 million cash and P500,000 worth of jewelries at around 8 p.m., Saturday.

“Investigation conducted disclosed that the suspect forcibly destroyed the back door of the house of the victim and took a cash amounting more or less P1.5 million and assorted jewelry worth more or less P500,000.00 owned by the victim,” police report said.

A security camera installed at the victim’s house recorded the suspect forcibly destroying the backdoor and carting away the money and valuables.

“The suspect was seen on the act of stealing at the CCTV footages installed in the house of the victim,” Calubaquib said. 

Policemen were able to identify the suspect and tracked her down to her known address but she was no longer around during the pursuit operation.(By: Raydes Barcia)
