The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced on Tuesday that it will pursue diplomatic avenues to secure the return of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo to the Philippines. PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo stated in a press briefing that the PNP is prepared to provide any necessary assistance in this effort.

“If it is true that she has already left the country, then we have to go through diplomatic channels to address the possibility of bringing her back,” Fajardo said.

The PNP plans to coordinate with police attachés in the countries where Guo is reportedly located. This follows confirmation from the Bureau of Immigration (BI) that Guo is currently in Indonesia, despite facing multiple complaints, including human trafficking.

Guo’s name was placed on the immigration lookout bulletin (ILBO) amid investigations into her identity and connections to illegal activities involving a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) in her town. BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco revealed that Guo managed to leave the Philippines without passing through official immigration channels.

Fajardo also warned that those who may have assisted Guo’s exit could face criminal and administrative charges. Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla issued a stern warning to BI personnel involved in her departure, urging them to come forward or face severe consequences.

The BI is monitoring Guo’s movements and indicated that she could be deported back to the Philippines if her travel documents are canceled.
