Quezon City has declared a dengue outbreak following a 200% increase in cases compared to last year, with 1,769 infections and 10 fatalities recorded between January 1 and February 14, 2025.

🔹 58% of cases are school-age children (5-17 years old)
🔹 44% are children aged 1-10
Government Response:
✅ All 66 health centers open on weekends (8 AM – 5 PM)

✅ Spraying & fogging in high-risk areas
✅ Larviciding in stagnant water sources
Dengue Prevention Measures for Residents:
✔ Use mosquito repellent
✔ Wear long-sleeved clothing & pants
✔ Empty water containers to prevent mosquito breeding
✔ Attend barangay dengue awareness programs
Mayor Joy Belmonte emphasized that the declaration ensures the city remains proactive in protecting residents, especially children.
