Rommel Padilla has officially debunked a social media quote card falsely attributed to him, which criticized actress Kathryn Bernardo while defending his son, Daniel Padilla. The fabricated quote suggested that Rommel had called his son’s ex-girlfriend out for being judgmental and ungrateful, a claim he vehemently denies.

The alleged quote card accused Kathryn of owing her success to Daniel and insinuated that she should have expected Daniel to be involved with other women due to his attractiveness. Rommel took to his Facebook page to show a screenshot of the fake quote and the account spreading it, urging the public not to believe or disseminate the misinformation. “FAKE NEWS! Please do not believe and share this. This is punishable by law,” Rommel captioned, emphasizing the legal consequences of spreading false information.

The issue has also drawn the attention of Rommel’s brother, Robin Padilla, an actor-turned-senator, whose office issued a statement confirming that the quote card does not reflect Rommel’s views and is entirely fabricated.

This incident highlights the broader issue of fake news affecting celebrities, with several other stars like Sarah Lahbati, Marian Rivera, and Annabelle Rama having previously been targeted by similar false claims. The Padilla family’s proactive stance in clarifying misinformation reflects their commitment to maintaining integrity and truth in public discourse.
