Ruffa Gutierrez has confirmed her relationship with actor-politician Herbert Bautista. The actress revealed the news during an interview on Karen Davila’s YouTube channel, disclosing that they have been together for four years.
During the interview, Ruffa was joined by her daughters, Lorin and Venice Bektas, who shared details about their mother’s relationship. They reconnected with Herbert while working on the series “The House Arrest of Us” in 2020.
Recalling their first date, which included her daughters, Ruffa said, “Very proper. He picked us up from the house and took my daughters along. He said, ‘I want to meet them.’ And to make sure that they’re okay with him and everyone is comfortable.”
Lorin and Venice expressed their approval of Herbert, praising his humor and the happiness he brings to their mother. “Honestly, just seeing our mom with him, she was just so happy,” Venice said. Lorin added that Ruffa “turns into a teenager” when she talks about Herbert and noted his positive influence on their mother, particularly his encouragement for her to return to school.
Ruffa earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from the Philippine Women’s University in 2022 at the age of 48 and is now pursuing her master’s in Communication.
When asked about the seriousness of her relationship, Ruffa stated, “I never go into a relationship that’s not serious. I’m always the serious type.” She also mentioned her preference for a quieter personal life, believing it leads to greater happiness.
Ruffa’s daughters have expressed their desire to be bridesmaids if she ever marries again. Previously, Ruffa was married to Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas. After their separation in 2007, their marriage was annulled, and Ruffa has since been a single mother to her daughters.
