Sandra Oh, best known for her iconic role as Dr. Cristina Yang on Grey’s Anatomy, has been awarded an honorary doctorate from Dartmouth College.

The acclaimed actress took to Instagram to share her excitement, posting photos from the 2025 commencement where she delivered the graduation speech.

“A Dr. for real reals!! (Okay, honorary),” she joked in the caption, celebrating the moment with the Class of 2025.

In her heartfelt address, Oh revealed she never actually attended university herself, despite often portraying highly educated characters. “So thank you for helping fulfill my parents’ dream of me actually getting a degree. And a doctorate at that! I know it’s honorary,” she said.

Sandra Oh portrayed Dr. Cristina Yang, a brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon, on Grey’s Anatomy from 2005 to 2014. The long-running series recently entered its 21st season.
