LUCENA CITY – Sea travel for small vessels (250 gross tonnage and below) in northern Quezon province resumed on Monday, January 6, 2026, after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) lifted its gale warning. The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) had suspended voyages starting Saturday due to rough seas from strong gale-force winds associated with the northeast monsoon (amihan).

The suspension affected routes in General Nakar town and the Polillo Islands group (Panukulan, Burdeos, Patnanungan, and Jomalig), facing the Pacific Ocean. Larger vessels operated normally during the ban.

PCG-Northern Quezon confirmed resumption for all vessels province-wide, citing improved conditions. Travelers should monitor PAGASA updates for potential re-suspensions.
