Senator Risa Hontiveros announced that the Senate’s ongoing investigation into Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) will conclude in the upcoming session. Hontiveros noted that the committee is prepared to finalize its findings, incorporating evidence from recent reports and the arrest of alleged POGO leader Lyu Dong.
The Senate panel intends to question Lyu Dong about his suspected ties to Alice Guo, following his recent detention in Laguna. Hontiveros emphasized that the committee hopes to secure Lyu Dong’s presence at the final hearing to clarify his connections and provide further insight.
Lyu Dong, reportedly a leading figure in the Lucky South 99 POGO hub in Pampanga, is among the first prominent POGO operators identified by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission. Hontiveros mentioned that the panel will delve deeper into these connections over the coming weeks to prepare for the final round of questioning.
