Operations at seven airports in the Bicol region have been suspended ahead of the approach of Typhoon Uwan, as authorities cite serious safety risks from severe winds and heavy rainfall. Among the airports affected are major facilities in Daraga (Albay), Naga (Camarines Sur), Virac (Catanduanes), Masbate, Daet (Camarines Norte), and two in Sorsogon.

The suspension, issued by the aviation authority, is in effect as the storm enters its most intense phase, with airport personnel placed on standby and full monitoring of weather and runway conditions underway. Travelers are urged to contact their carriers for updates, as flight cancellations and delays may extend while the storm impacts the region.
