Two members of the popular K-pop group Seventeen, Jeonghan and Jun, will be stepping back from group activities starting in the latter half of 2024. According to a statement by Pledis Entertainment, Jeonghan is scheduled to fulfill his mandatory military service, while Jun will be pursuing acting projects in China.
Jeonghan’s Military Service
Jeonghan has pre-filmed most of his content but will not be participating in the promotional activities for Seventeen’s 12th mini album and the “SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR,” which begins in October. However, he will still attend a previously announced fan signing event and Lollapalooza Berlin. More details about his military service will be announced later.
Jun’s Acting Pursuits
Jun will also be unable to attend Lollapalooza Berlin, music show performances for the 12th mini album, and the world tour. Despite this, Jun has completed filming for advanced content and remains committed to participating in Seventeen’s group activities as much as possible.
Pledis Entertainment’s Statement
Pledis Entertainment asked fans for their understanding and support for Jeonghan and Jun, stating, “Please continue to show your love for SEVENTEEN and stay tuned for SEVENTEEN’s upcoming activities this year.”
Upcoming Activities
Seventeen announced their “Right Here” world tour in late July, which will kick off in South Korea in October and include an Asian leg. The group released their greatest hits album, “17 is Right Here,” in April. They performed two sold-out concerts at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan in January and will premiere the concert film in Philippine cinemas on August 21. Additionally, they hosted a pop-up shop at SM City North EDSA from January to February, showcasing products from their artist-made collection.
Members Seungkwan, DK, and Hoshi, part of the BSS subunit, were in the Philippines in December 2023 for the Asia Artist Awards, where they performed “Fighting.”
