The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has successfully completed its inaugural maritime resupply mission of the year to the troops stationed at the BRP Sierra Madre at Ayungin (Second Thomas) Shoal in the West Philippine Sea. This significant logistical operation was carried out without any disturbances, as confirmed by AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla. The mission, which took place on January 20 and 21, was initially delayed due to a technical issue with one of the civilian supply boats, leading to a brief airdrop supply intervention.
Col. Padilla praised the operation, describing it as a “flawless rotation and resupply operation” characterized by exceptional teamwork, precision, and dedication. Despite an initial postponement, the resupply vessels faced no obstructions from Chinese ships in the vicinity, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted mission. This operation marks a positive start to the year for the AFP, demonstrating their commitment and capability to sustain their presence and support their troops in strategic locations.
