Nadia Montenegro’s youngest daughter, Sophia Asistio, has revealed that she is in touch with her biological father, actor Baron Geisler. The 18-year-old shared her experience during an episode of Lutong Bahay hosted by Mikee Quintos.
Sophia explained that while she grew up with her late father figure, Boy Asistio, she has maintained contact with Baron over the years. “I talk to my dad, but since I grew up with Daddy Boy, syempre iba pa rin ‘yung soft place niya sa heart ko,” she said.
Discovering the Truth
Nadia shared how Sophia confronted her at age 16 about Baron being her biological father. While Nadia had not explicitly told her, Sophia had always sensed the truth. “She knew inside, pero she confronted me when she was 16,” Nadia explained.
Despite their current communication, Sophia said she maintains boundaries with Baron as they rebuild their relationship. “I’ve tried na din, parang second chance na lang din ‘to,” she said, adding that she is open to discovering more about herself through their connection.
Pride in Her Identity
Sophia also addressed public curiosity about her surname, expressing pride in keeping her current name. “I’m very proud sa apelyido na meron ako ngayon. I take pride, and kung hindi ko siya kailangan palitan, hindi ko papalitan,” she said.
Nadia and Baron’s Dynamic
When asked about her feelings toward Baron, Nadia confirmed that she has forgiven him. “Oo naman. Napatawad ko na siya. Ang tanong, napatawad na ba niya ang sarili niya?” she remarked, emphasizing her openness to reconciliation for Sophia’s sake.
In July, Nadia revealed on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda that Baron is Sophia’s biological father, a truth her late partner, Boy Asistio, had requested to keep secret until his passing.
Sophia celebrated her 18th birthday in August, marking a new chapter in her life as she navigates her relationship with both her mother and Baron.
