Seoul, South KoreaRenowned R&B singer Wheesung has passed away at the age of 43, Korean media reported on Monday.

Police confirmed that Wheesung was found collapsed in his Seoul apartment at around 6:29 p.m. Emergency responders arrived following a call from his family, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities stated that there were no immediate signs of foul play, and the exact cause of death is under investigation.

His agency, Tajoy Entertainment, released a statement expressing their deep sorrow:

“The sudden loss has left his family, fellow artists, and staff in profound grief. We ask that fans keep him in their thoughts and prayers.”

They also urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified rumors.

A Legacy in Music

Wheesung debuted in 2002 with the album Like a Movie and gained fame with hits like “Is It Not Possible?,” “With Me,” and “In a Year.”

Beyond singing, he was also a talented lyricist, contributing to songs for TWICE, T-ara, Ailee, Younha, Lee Hyori, and Orange Caramel.

His passing marks a huge loss in the K-pop and R&B industry, with fans mourning the end of an era in South Korean music.
