Storm “Uwan” has slightly intensified as it approaches the Philippine Area of Responsibility, prompting the weather bureau to raise Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 in several provinces across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The affected areas under Signal No. 1 can expect strong winds of roughly 39 to 61 km/h within the next 24‑36 hours, along with possible heavy rains and an elevated risk of coastal or upland hazards.

Local authorities and households in the flagged provinces are being advised to initiate preparedness measures — secure loose outdoor items, monitor drainage, and avoid coastal or small‑craft travel. The signal reflects increased threat but does not yet represent the highest alert level, which could be raised if Uwan further intensifies.
