MANILA, Philippines — Police have arrested the primary suspect in a high-profile shooting at a condominium in Parañaque City that left one person dead and another injured earlier this week. The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) confirmed the arrest on Friday, March 6, 2026.

  • The Suspect: Identified as Mark Anthony Almodovar, 32, a resident of the same condominium complex where the incident occurred.
  • The Operation: Almodovar was apprehended by members of the Parañaque City Police and the NCRPO Intelligence Division in a hideout in Las Piñas City following a three-day manhunt.
  • The Incident: The shooting took place on Tuesday, March 3, inside a unit at the Azure Urban Resort Residences. The victim, identified as Jefferson Go, 29, was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital. A female companion of Go was treated for a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

Upon further investigation, police discovered that Almodovar was not a first-time offender.

  • Pending Warrant: At the time of the shooting, the suspect had an active warrant of arrest for homicide issued by a Pasay City court in 2024.
  • Motive: Investigators believe the shooting was sparked by a “heated argument” over a business transaction, though they are still looking into whether the victims and the suspect were involved in any illegal activities.

NCRPO Director Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended the swift action of the Parañaque police force. “The arrest of this individual shows our commitment to ensuring that no one can hide from the law, especially those with existing warrants who continue to commit violent crimes,” Nartatez said in a statement.

Almodovar is currently detained at the Parañaque City Police Station and faces new charges of Murder and Frustrated Murder.
