Global superstar Celine Dion has officially announced her return to the stage, calling the news the “best birthday gift” she could ever receive.

On Monday, March 30—her 58th birthday—the legendary singer released a heartfelt video on social media, confirming that she will perform a series of 10 shows at the Paris La Défense Arena starting September 12. This marks her first full residency in over six years, following a hiatus caused by a rare health condition and the global pandemic.

Dion has been open about her struggle with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), an incurable autoimmune neurological disorder she first disclosed in December 2022. The condition, which causes severe muscle spasms, forced her to cancel the remainder of her “Courage World Tour.”

“I want to let you know that I’m doing great, managing my health, feeling good,” Dion said in her birthday message. She shared that she is “singing again, even doing a little bit of dancing,” signaling a significant recovery milestone.

Fans have more than just a tour to look forward to. Dion’s entourage confirmed she will release a new single written by her longtime collaborator, Jean-Jacques Goldman. Goldman was the mastermind behind the 1995 album D’eux, which remains the best-selling French-language album of all time.

The announcement was met with a celebratory light show at the Eiffel Tower, which displayed the message “Paris, I’m ready” alongside her soaring cover of Edith Piaf’s “L’hymne à l’amour.”

The singer’s resilience has been a point of inspiration for millions. After being featured in the 2024 documentary I Am: Celine Dion, which detailed her grueling physical therapy and determination to sing again, she made a surprise appearance at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony, performing from the Eiffel Tower.

With over 260 million albums sold and five Grammys to her name, Celine Dion remains one of the most successful artists in history. Her upcoming Paris shows are expected to be some of the most sought-after tickets of the year, marking the return of one of the greatest voices of all time.
