In her Christmas Day message, Vice President Sara Duterte underscored the importance of forgiveness, generosity, and love, encouraging Filipinos to embody these virtues in their interactions with others.
“The birth of Jesus is a message of forgiveness that encompasses God’s unparalleled love for all. Let us use His example as inspiration in dealing with others, especially our family and loved ones,” Duterte said in a video shared on her social media accounts.
She urged the public to prioritize understanding, respect, and compassion over material gifts, especially toward the poor and the sick.
“This is the true meaning of this season, and it serves as a reminder for all of us—not just in December but every day of our lives. Once again, I extend my warm greetings to every Filipino, wherever they may be in the world,” Duterte added.
The Vice President’s message comes weeks after she candidly admitted to not being a forgiving person amid her ongoing feud with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez.
