A complaint for double murder has been filed against the wife of the alleged mastermind behind the killing of married online sellers, Arvin and Lerma Lulu. The couple was shot dead in their vehicle in Mexico, Pampanga, on October 4, 2024.
According to a report by 24 Oras, the Philippine National Police (PNP) is also seeking a lookout bulletin order from the Bureau of Immigration to prevent the suspect from fleeing the country. PNP PRO-3 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan stated that witness testimonies and other evidence revealed the wife’s involvement in discussions between the mastermind and the gunmen.
Relatives of the Lulu couple were shocked by the suspects’ presence at the wake, as they acted as though they had no part in the crime.
The alleged mastermind and seven other suspects are now in police custody. Investigations revealed that the mastermind had a ₱13 million debt to the victims for beauty products, and this was the apparent motive for the killings. The suspects also allegedly owed another online seller ₱27 million in Nueva Ecija, pointing to a modus operandi of borrowing money, issuing checks, and later ordering hits on creditors.
Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla, during a visit to Pampanga, called for the eradication of guns-for-hire groups in Central Luzon, which have been linked to the killings, setting a deadline of March 2025.
