WNBA champion and Team USA standout Sabrina Ionescu is set to begin her first Asian tour in the Philippines this March.

The New York Liberty sharpshooter will make a stop in Manila as part of her three-country tour, where she aims to inspire and mentor aspiring basketball players.

The 2020 first-overall draft pick will start her visit on March 10 with a panel discussion alongside fellow Nike athletes and coaches at Nike Fort, BGC, Taguig, at 3 p.m.

The following day, March 11, Ionescu will experience the energy of Filipino basketball firsthand by joining an exhibition match and a three-point shootout challenge at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

After her Manila stop, she will head to Guangzhou, China, to conduct a basketball camp for young players, before wrapping up her tour in Hong Kong.

“I’m excited to connect with basketball fans across Manila, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong, especially young hoopers. You can feel their passion for the game, even from New York,” Ionescu shared.

“Together, we will celebrate basketball, and I hope we inspire each other to pursue our dreams with dedication, commitment, and hard work.”

A WNBA champion with New York Liberty, Ionescu played a key role in securing the franchise’s first title last year against the Minnesota Lynx. She is also an Olympic gold medalist, having helped Team USA win its eighth consecutive gold in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
