Xian Lim revealed that he was not the one who initiated his breakup with Kim Chiu.

On Wednesday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the Kapuso actor was asked if he and Kim are still friends following their split. “Of course. Nagulat ako sa tanong. Of course, yes,” Xian responded, adding that they have not spoken since their breakup last year.

The Breakup

Reflecting on the night they parted ways, Xian shared, “When that night happened, maayos ‘yung pag-uusap namin. Of course, merong iyakan, but there was that assurance na we—we went through 12 years, ‘di ba? 12 years of our existence, so it has that respect, you know?”

To clarify further, he added, “To be completely honest, I wasn’t the one who engaged in the separation. ‘Yun lang po siya. It’s that simple. I wasn’t the one who initiated the breakup.”

Fan Reactions and False Accusations

Xian acknowledged the feelings of betrayal and anger from their fans, particularly directed at him. He emphasized that his record is “clean,” stating, “I think the length of [the relationship] speaks for itself and ‘yung mga pambabatikos sa ‘kin ng karamihan, I think they should just look at it from a lens na for more than a decade, I never had—my record is clean, and I’m proud of that. You’re not gonna see me in places you’re not supposed to see me, you know?”

He expressed sadness over the negative rumors and clarified that he does not want to appear as if he is using the breakup to promote his film, “Playtime.”

Current Relationships

Xian and Kim confirmed their split in December of last year without disclosing the reasons. Rumors of their breakup began circulating in November, leading Xian to issue a statement.

Last month, Xian confirmed in a magazine interview that he is dating film producer Iris Lee but clarified that their relationship began after his breakup with Kim.

In a separate interview with GMA Integrated News, Xian stated that he does not deserve the false accusations being made against him following their split.
