A 14-year-old girl collapsed on Thursday at the Manila North Cemetery during what officials say was intense heat and fatigue from long hours of walking within the cemetery grounds.
According to Dr. Elmer Ulanday, the attending physician, the girl recovered after resting, eating and drinking fluids.
Officials are reminding visitors to keep hydrated, take breaks, and avoid staying outdoors for long periods during this season to prevent heat-related illness.
