An additional 25 House lawmakers have signed the impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte, bringing the total number of signatories to 240, House Secretary General Reginald Velasco confirmed on Friday.

“These lawmakers were unable to attend the initial oath-taking and verification due to prior commitments abroad or in their districts. However, they have sent their verifications to formalize their support for the proceedings,” Velasco stated.

With 102 signatures required to send the impeachment complaint directly to the Senate for trial, the initial 215 signatories had already exceeded this threshold. The Senate will now decide whether to accept the additional 25 signatories.

Key Accusations in the Impeachment Complaint

VP Duterte faces multiple allegations, including:
🔹 Conspiracy to assassinate President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez
🔹 Malversation of ₱612.5 million in confidential funds with questionable liquidation
🔹 Bribery and corruption at the Department of Education (DepEd) during her tenure as Secretary
🔹 Unexplained wealth, with her net worth allegedly increasing fourfold from 2007 to 2017
🔹 Involvement in extrajudicial killings in Davao City
🔹 Destabilization efforts including boycotting the State of the Nation Address (SONA), leading anti-Marcos rallies, and obstructing congressional investigations

Next Steps

The Senate impeachment court will determine whether to proceed with the case. Lanao del Sur Rep. Zia Adiong, one of the original 215 signatories, emphasized that the Senate has the final say on the inclusion of the new signers.
