Vanness Wu paid a heartfelt tribute to Barbie Hsu, his former Meteor Garden co-star, following her untimely passing on February 2.
On Instagram, the Taiwanese-American actor and singer shared an image of the Barbie logo set against a black background, accompanied by a touching caption:
“Big Smile, Big Heart, Big Laugh, Big Love… Big S.”
“Thank you for all your kindness throughout the years, especially when we first met… Miss you dearly, Barbie. Rest in Love.”
Vanness, who portrayed Mei Zuo in the iconic 2001 Taiwanese drama, was part of the legendary F4 boy band, alongside Jerry Yan, Ken Chu, and Vic Chou. The show, which launched all their careers, followed the story of Shan Cai (Barbie Hsu) and her encounters with the wealthy F4 boys.
Barbie Hsu’s Passing and Tributes
The actress tragically passed away at age 48 due to influenza-induced pneumonia while in Japan. Her remains have since been brought back to Taiwan.
Her husband, South Korean rapper DJ Koo, expressed his immense grief, writing:
“I am currently in a state of indescribable sadness and pain, with a heart as if being cut by a knife, and my insides are torn apart.”
Other tributes have poured in from Jerry Yan, Ken Chu, and Rainie Yang, as well as countless fans mourning the loss of the beloved actress.
