Authorities seized P174.8 million worth of shabu and arrested three individuals in separate anti-drug operations in Cebu City and Taguig City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported.

Cebu City: P170M Shabu Seized at Pier

In Cebu City, a 63-year-old woman and her 41-year-old son were apprehended Thursday morning at Pier 5, Barangay Carreta. Authorities found 25 kilograms of shabu, valued at P170 million, inside their vehicle during an inspection around 7:30 a.m.

The suspects, identified as “Edward” from Leyte and “Edna” from Cebu, had traveled from Masbate to Cebu via a roll-on, roll-off (ro-ro) vessel.

Seized items included:

  • 25 packs of shabu (1 kilogram each)
  • A sedan
  • Three smartphones
  • Two identification cards

Chemists from PDEA’s Regional Office 7 conducted on-site testing, confirming the substances as shabu. The evidence will undergo further testing at the PDEA 7 laboratory, and charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects.

Taguig City: High-Value Target Arrested

In another operation, a 32-year-old woman was arrested in Barangay South Signal, Taguig City, on Wednesday. The Southern Police District (SPD) seized 708.5 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P4.8 million, during a buy-bust operation.

Confiscated items included:

  • Genuine P1,000 bill (marked money)
  • 49 fake P1,000 bills (boodle money)
  • A lavender paper bag used in the transaction

The suspect, considered a high-value target, is detained at the Taguig City Police Station Custodial Facility. She will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Both operations highlight continued efforts by PDEA and law enforcement to combat illegal drug trade across the Philippines.
