A three-bus collision at the southbound lane of the Balintawak Station along the EDSA Bus Carousel injured around 50 people on Friday, according to a report by Super Radyo dzBB.
The incident prompted a quick response from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and Quezon City local government personnel. Most of the injured passengers were transported to Quezon City General Hospital for treatment.
As of 3 PM, one of the buses, reportedly the vehicle that suffered brake failure and caused the crash, remained on the southbound lane awaiting towing. Initial casualty numbers have risen, with at least two victims, including the driver of the bus, sustaining severe injuries.
Authorities are continuing investigations into the mishap, which disrupted traffic flow in the area.
