Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo seemed in high spirits during her turnover from Indonesian to Philippine authorities. When asked by the media if she was okay, Guo confidently replied with a thumbs-up, “I’m good, I’m good!” She also expressed confidence in addressing the accusations against her.
Bureau of Immigration Fugitive Search Unit Chief Rendel Ryan Sy mentioned that Guo’s deportation clearance is currently being processed before she is transferred to a scheduled chartered flight. “The important thing is to deport her within the seven hours, or maybe just six hours left in our timeframe,” Sy told GMA Integrated News.
Alice Guo was arrested by Indonesian authorities in Tangerang City early Wednesday morning. She faces charges related to human trafficking connected to a raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Bamban and a money laundering complaint filed with the Department of Justice.
National Bureau of Immigration Assistant Director Lito Magno stated that cases involving human trafficking and money laundering have already been filed against Guo. “We will see what else can be done, especially regarding how she left the country, and hopefully, this matter can be resolved once and for all,” Magno said.
Guo’s supposed sister, Shiela Guo, disclosed that Alice, along with her and their alleged brother Wesly, left the country by taking multiple boats.
