The arraignment of former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, facing graft charges in Valenzuela City, was once again delayed, according to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). The hearing, originally scheduled for Monday, has been rescheduled to October 28, BJMP spokesperson Jail Superintendent Jayrex Bustinera confirmed.

When asked about the reason for the postponement, Bustinera noted that the BJMP had only received a notice of the new schedule.

This is the second postponement of Guo’s arraignment, as a previous hearing on September 20 was also canceled due to a pending motion to dismiss the charges against her. Guo had earlier posted a P540,000 bail for violations of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

The charges stem from a Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) complaint related to her alleged involvement in the raid of a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) in Bamban. Guo also faces charges of qualified human trafficking, money laundering, and tax evasion. She remains detained at the Pasig City Jail.
