Unable to attend the wake of her longtime partner Hajji Alejandro, Alynna Velasquez found another heartfelt way to honor the late OPM icon.
In an Instagram post, Alynna shared that she visited Hajji’s star at Eastwood City’s Walk of Fame, dressed in mourning black and carrying flowers and a handwritten note. The area was softly lit with candles and adorned with a portrait of Hajji, which she kissed tenderly.
“I couldn’t make it to your wake due to reasons beyond my control,” she wrote in the caption. “But I’m grateful to be here, praying for you and watching your star shine.”
She added, “You’re truly a legend, and your beautiful music will live on. We love you dearly.” Her post included the hashtags #IMissYouLove and #HappyAnniversary.
Hajji Alejandro, a revered figure in Original Pilipino Music, passed away on Tuesday at age 70 after battling stage 4 colon cancer. Alynna shared that the couple would have celebrated their 27th anniversary on April 22.
Best known for hits like Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika, Panakip-butas, and Tag-Araw, Tag-Ulan, Hajji was also a member of the iconic Circus Band and a Metro Manila Popular Music Festival winner.
