Filipina beauty queen Angelica Lopez captivated the audience at the Miss International 2024 national costume competition in Tokyo, Japan, wearing an exquisite “Pearl of the Orient Seas” ensemble. Designed by Patrick Isorena, the costume featured a stunning white and silver gown adorned with thousands of meticulously placed pearls and crystals, complete with a dazzling headdress.

Angelica described the ensemble as a tribute to the “Philippines’ rich history and unparalleled beauty,” embodying the country’s cultural legacy and honoring the tradition of pearl diving, a centuries-old Filipino art.

“Each pearl tells a story, and this costume, passed down through generations, represents a timeless connection to our heritage,” Angelica said. “It’s a masterpiece by Patrick Isorena, capturing the spirit of our ancestors.”

Angelica, who earned the Binibining Pilipinas International crown in May 2023, will compete for the Miss International title on November 12 at Tokyo Dome City Hall. Known for her advocacy, she also highlighted the importance of empowering underprivileged children in her Beauties for SDGs video for the competition.
