Actor Archie Alemania has entered a not-guilty plea to the acts of lasciviousness case filed by actress Rita Daniela, during his arraignment on April 29 at the Bacoor City Municipal Trial Court. The court also approved Alemania’s request for a gag order, prohibiting both parties from publicly discussing the case’s details.

Alemania declined to give statements after the arraignment. Daniela, meanwhile, remained firm, expressing faith that the truth will come out. “I know my truth, and I know God is with me. No matter how long it takes, the truth will prevail,” she told reporters.

The case stems from Daniela’s complaint filed in September 2024, alleging that Alemania kissed and touched her inappropriately during a Thanksgiving party for their TV show “Widow’s War,” and later made offensive remarks. In December, Alemania submitted a counter-affidavit, denying the accusations and claiming his actions were simply friendly gestures.

A Bacoor Regional Trial Court had earlier found sufficient grounds to proceed with the case, issuing an arrest warrant and recommending P36,000 bail. The prosecution cited a “prima facie case” and a reasonable chance of conviction under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code, which addresses lewd acts committed without consent.
